Crowns and Bridges

Crowns and bridges are dental restorations fabricated to mimic and restore real tooth form and function.

Crowns are used to restore individual teeth for protection or cosmetic improvement. Bridges are used when there is a missing tooth or teeth involved. Both crowns and bridges can be constructed from various ceramics, metal, or a combination of both.

Depending on an individual’s oral and general health, crowns and bridges generally last anywhere between 10 and 15 years with some lasting even longer. Much like natural teeth, crowns and bridges still require proper care. After a crown or bridge is placed, individuals must regularly brush and floss to minimise the chances of developing plaque/calculus build up and prevent recurrent decay.
